New: We've adapted the swim distances to our new venue and introduced new procedures based on your feedback.
17 km - the open water race for experienced swimmers who want to conquer Lake Wörthersee! The 17 km race is aimed at experienced open water swimmers who want to test their strength. The difficulty level is very high; not only the swimming but also the orientation in the water must be mastered. Endurance and mental strength are also required. The course runs along the shore, and the swimmers will be supported and secured by several support boats. Isotonic drinks, sports jelly, sports bars, and bananas will be provided at the refreshment stations.
Schedule: At 7 a.m., the swimmers will be transported by bus from the Maiernigg lido to the start in Velden. The start is at 8 a.m. in Velden.
The remaining course is marked with regatta buoys every 350 meters. The finish is the Maiernigg lido in Klagenfurt.
In addition to the age groups, participants can choose whether to compete with or without a wetsuit.
Just as mountaineers approach the mountain from camp to camp, swimmers at the Wörthersee Swim Austria battle their way through the water from aid station to aid station. Each section demands strength, endurance, and mental toughness – always with the goal in mind. The lake becomes a sporting challenge, and the stages become the path to the mountain.
